Neil Callander (American, born 1981)

Neil is a realist painter depicting person stories that resonate with the masses. In his words: “Narrative is an innate and inescapable fact in a realist painting. I pack a painting with cultural and personal references and work toward a flexible narrative. “

After working as a painter assistant in the studio of Jeff Koons, Neil left New York in 2007 for a teaching position in Louisville. He is currently an Assistant Professor at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with his wife, son, and dog.
