exhibition of excellent artists of the African diaspora, attendees will find themselves in fresh review of their relationship with desire, worth, and necessity.
Black Blooded: An Exploration of Black Life Through Art 
June 28th, 6pm at Charlotte Mecklenburg Main Library
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library presents an exploration of a brand new art exhibit and its artists. Black Blooded is an exhibit at The New Gallery of Modern Art (435 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202), and is built like a family photo album with close to 70 pieces by 50 artists. This group exhibition demonstrates the diversity and nuance within narratives of tradition, consanguinity, and origin. Be part of a public conversation with artists Stephanie J. Woods, Brianna Robinson, and Carmen Neely about their work, life, and education and how it ties into the show Black Blooded. This discussion will be moderated by the exhibit’s curator Jessica Gaynelle Moss.
Let’s Talk Dammit: The Making of BLACK BLOODED
July 19th, 7pm at Blk Mrkt at Camp North End 
This month’s “Let’s Talk Dammit” will feature Dammit Wesley, owner of BlkMrktCLT and the graphic designer for the Black Blooded exhibition and catalogue. This conversation will focus on finding the balance between aestheics and concept through design principles. Dammit Wesley will share insight about his experience with demanding clients, technology issues,balancing multiple schedules, and how to keep it all together.
